● 설교설명 Sermon Description

마틴 로이드 존스 박사에 따르면, 기도의 가장 중요한 부분의 하나가 하나님에 대한 감사이다. 하나님께 항상 감사하라, 라는 에베소서 5:20을 본문으로 하는 이 설교에서 마틴 로이드 존스 박사는 다음과 같이 말한다: 영적 성숙의 가장 투명한 척도 중 하나가 기도 중 얼마나 많은 시간이 감사함에 있느냐이다. According to Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, one of the most important parts of prayer is thanksgiving. In this sermon on Ephesians 5:20 titled “Giving Thanks Always Unto God,” he says that one of the clearest gauges of spiritual maturity is how much of prayer is spent in thanksgiving.

It is by God’s loving grace that His people know Him and are partakers of all the blessings of Christ Jesus the Savior. Christians have new life and hope only in Jesus, and only come to know Christ through the grace of God in sending His Holy Spirit. As Dr. Lloyd-Jones elaborates, Christians can give thanks even for the hardships in life.

This can be seen in Acts when Paul and Silas are beaten and thrown in prison but continue to sing praises to God. This is because it is God who sovereignly works 경영하다, 운영하다. in and through all things to bring about His purposes for His people. No matter what trials and tribulations Christians are experiencing, and no matter how bad the circumstances are, they can always give thanks to the God who has delivered them from sin, who loves them, and guards them through all of life. The opening line of Pss 105-107, "Oh give thanks to the LORD," links together this trilogy of songs which praise God for His and goodness and mercy to Israel. Most likely this psalm has a post-Exilic origin (cf. 107:3). The psalm develops, two main themes: 1) praising God for His continual deliverance (107:4-32), and 2) remembering God's response to man's obedience/disobedience (107:33-42).

Christians should be amazed they have been saved and adopted as children of God.

Christians should give thanks for trials, troubles, and tribulations. God uses all things for the good of those who love him. Suffering as a Christian is a privilege. Chastisement from God shows his love. Difficult times can be a call to return to God.

Christians can give thanks by remembering their salvation, relationship to God, purpose of trials, and God's faithfulness.
